Since I fly to Houston monthly I decided to check out the best spots for plane spotting there. The George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is larger than Houston Hobby so I went there & found Houston Plane Spotting tips at houstonspotters.net & went to a popular site late afternoon for some warm light & spent the time documenting a lot of United Airlines arrivals to IAH.

Location: 29.978569, -95.295717

This spot is the only official spot for plane spotting for IAH & since it is the largest domestic hub for United Airlines that is what you will mostly see at this location. It is a small parking lot & due to volume of people coming & going portable bathrooms are included with trash bins so the area is kept clean. It is a nice safe area with airport patrol stopping by to ensure no problems.

I believe serious aviation enthusiatists try other locations & some spots they have to contact airport security for approval to get variation. I did get a chance to photograph an Emirates Airbus arrival but that was done out of my car driving to IAH & I had my camera ready.
