It started with The Ashgrove…Greg Leisz produced the album for Dave Alvin & brought him to Winslow Ct. Studio & that was the start of many albums to come with Craig engineering (he has mastered getting the Dave sound) & I have been a super fan ever since.

I fly to Houston monthly & when I saw that Dave Alvin & Jimmy Dale Gilmore with the Guilty Ones were playing at The Heights I was excited because at the Troubadour shows in L.A. you need a photo pass to bring in a camera (Dave has plenty of talented photographer friends that get the passes) & they are very strict so I was happy to learn that I could bring my Leica V-Lux (Typ 114) to The Heights show. Set the camera to silent shooting & with a 400 zoom is perfect for live events.

I love going to see Dave Alvin live because he is like a premium whiskey that has been well aged. His sound, his voice is all his own & a true showman & storyteller with his songs.
